I know we seem to be pushing burlesque quite a bit (two posts in three weeks seems a little disproportionate), but this happens to be some clever stuff, so relax. This event is called Bump & Grindhouse and is an homage to the campy schlock of days gone by (unless you count The Fast and The Furious: Tokyo Drift, in which case, literally only a few days). With several starlets coming out for the event, it promises to be entertaining at worst and truly romantic and bizarre at best (I’d assume the former and be happy with the latter). The emcee for the evening is New York’s own Lady Aye, who looks like someone you’d probably not want to fuck with.
Where: Coney Island - Sideshows By The Seashore
When: 10pm Friday, May 25th
Directions: Take the D, Q N or F train to Stillwell Avenue (last stop). Takes 45 minutes from midtown Manhattan
TIP: Since it starts late, you’ll definitely have time to go to dinner beforehand. Let me recommend Totonno’s Pizza on Neptune Ave between 15th & 16th. Sometimes you need to convince a date why you should visit a particular place . . . here are some interesting facts about this place that may make it interesting:
It’s the oldest pizzeria that has been continuously run by the same family (started in 1924)
They close if they run out of dough — so don’t be shocked if you walk up on it and it’s shut.
They make their own mozzarella.

Thanks for the post, and I assure you I’m entirely tame — for a carnie.
