How better to spend a 78 degree Sunday afternoon than pedal-boating around the pond in Prospect Park? I challenge you to find a better way. Of course, you have to actually pedal around the pond, so that could be construed as a exercise and thus WAY out of the question for some people. But, if that happens to be your date who hates exercise, fear not: you’ll be in good company because of the 30 or so pedal boats I saw, about 30% of those had women with their feet up, smoking cigarettes and their good fellas pedaling furiously away.

Tip: The boats are BIG. Big enough to include 4 people comfortably. Instead of bringing the extra two, we recommend bringing out some wine and perhaps some fruit and cheese to have a picnic.
Tip: Bring water — being out on the water in the heat and in the direct sun can suck a lot out of you if you’re not careful.
Tip: Go to the bathroom before you go out.
